Part
of the Independence Day celebration and targeting the sports minded,
the 10th annual 4K Run is set for July 4th,
2008. Bring the whole family for some good exercise and fun!
The
participants start in town and head out to pasture lands and
stunning views of the Eastern Sierra and Inyo mountains, as they circle
the alfalfa fields on a trail of hard pack dirt. Then they come
back through town for a fast finish back to the starting point.

Location
Independence region of the Owen's Valley, Inyo County California.
Independence is located on U.S. Highway 395 at the eastern base
of the Sierra Nevada Mountains about 16 miles north of Lone Pine
and about 41 miles south of Bishop. Independence is approximately
210 miles north of Los Angeles.
