Independence 4K/10K Run

A great way to start your Independence Day celebration - run it or walk it...make it serious, or simply enjoy an early morning saunter... But join us!

10K RunPart of the Independence Day celebration and targeting the sports minded, the 12th annual 4K/10K Run is set for July 4th, 2009. Bring the whole family for some good exercise and fun!

The participants start in town and head out to pasture lands and stunning views of the Eastern Sierra and Inyo mountains, as they circle the alfalfa fields on a trail of hard pack dirt. Then they come back through town for a fast finish back to the starting point.

10K Run Race Information

  • To register by mail, print a copy of the entry form,
    then follow the mailing instructions at the bottom of the form.
  • For those pre-registered, race packets may be picked up July 2nd and 3rd at the Independence Chamber of Commerce.
  • Race Day Registration - Begins at 6:30 a.m. July 4th at the start line.
  • Race time - July 4th 7:15 am Sharp!
  • Start Location - Inyo and Edwards (U.S. Hwy 395) Streets in Independence.

Location
Independence region of the Owen's Valley, Inyo County California. Independence is located on U.S. Highway 395 at the eastern base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains about 16 miles north of Lone Pine and about 41 miles south of Bishop. Independence is approximately 210 miles north of Los Angeles.

While You Are Here
