Chamber of Commerce is a partnership of business interests, involved
members of the community and government agencies that promotes
tourism, improves the well being of the community and economic
health of the Greater Independence Area.
The Independence
Chamber of Commerce mission is:
- To
provide visitors to Independence and Inyo County with an information
resource and provide visitor services for an uncrowded recreational
experience set in an exquisite natural and unspoiled environment.
- To
promote the prosperity of the community of Independence and Inyo
County.
- To
promote activities and events in and for the community of Independence
and Inyo County.
- To
increase understanding and appreciation of the truly unique resources
contained in Independence and the surrounding area.
- To
provide a conduit for information between the business community
and governmental entities.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in the Chamber
of Commerce office, located at 139 North Edwards (Hwy 395) in Independence.
